She has been associated with Bazeecha Shelter Home as General Secretary since 2007. She is the principal caregiver in the boys shelter home which is the counterpart of Mera Ghar for boys. Her core responsibilities include; ensuring education, health and discipline of the boys, monitoring support staff (warden, guard and manager) and preparing duty roster along handling the property and handling the visitors. She is responsible for arranging recreational trips for the wards, dealing promptly with emergencies and updating directors on Mera Ghar on a monthly basis.
The passion to volunteer within her community followed her throughout her academic career and into her professional career. While doing her MBBS from Holy Family Hospital in 1992, she also actively got involved with SFPP Students Federation for Poor Patients. Under the umbrella of this organization arranged various medical & blood camps in villages, schools and universities. After her father’s passing, she set up Zarif Memorial Trust in his name, which is a medical clinic in her village Karore Tehsil Kotli Sattian.
She is a doer, in every sense of the word. Constantly looking ahead on how to move things, change things, make things better. Dr. Anjum lives in Rawalpindi with her family.
